Today’s Forecast: Expect clouds and warmth today in southern Colorado. Temperatures will be up to 5° above average for most. Numerous showers and thunderstorms are likely in the mountains. Burn scars will be susceptible to flooding today. A wind shift on the Plains, with a weak front coming in from the north, may provide isolated thunderstorms east. Late afternoon and evening isolated storms are possible along I-25.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 88; Low - 58. Staying partly cloudy today, but very warm. It'll be a great day to spend time outside, just remember to take breaks in the shade if you get too warm. An evening thunderstorm may roll off the mountains or off of Monument Hill. That will be hit or miss, with heavy rain possible for those who see activity.

PUEBLO: High - 94; Low - 63. Hot today to the mid 90s with partly cloudy conditions. Stay hydrated in this heat and take breaks if working outdoors. In the afternoon, most storms will stay west of Pueblo, but some may make it to town by the evening hours.

Isolated storms will have heavy rain and lightning, with small hail in the realm of possibility.

PLAINS: High - 90s; Low - 60s. Hot today to the 90s for the Plains. A front may help thunderstorms develop in the eastern Plains, specifically for Bent, Prowers, and Baca counties. These will be isolated and possibly strong, The severe weather threat is pretty low and these storms will move east into Kansas in the early evening.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 80s/90s; Low - 60s. Warm today to the upper 80s in Walsenburg and low 90s in Trinidad with partly cloudy conditions. Evening rain and thunderstorms may move southeast off the mountains late this afternoon into the early evening.

Extended Outlook: The warmth increases through mid-week, peaking Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain potential will be fairly low through mid-week east of the mountains. Daily thunderstorms are likely in higher elevations. Better rain potential comes to all of southern Colorado by late week.
