Temperatures will climb quickly today, to the 80s by mid-morning and peaking up to 10 degrees above average. Rain will favor the mountains today, with a few spotty thunderstorms in the plains.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 96; Low: 62. Partly cloudy today and hot. Initially a good pool day, with an isolated rain shower and lightning possible in the afternoon to evening.

PUEBLO: High: 100; Low: 63. HOT today and likely staying dry. A few spotty showers may be visible in the distance.

CANON CITY: High: 97; Low: 63. Hot temperatures today, and hopefully cooling this afternoon with a spotty rain shower or thunderstorm.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 82; Low: 52. Very warm today with partly cloudy conditions, and a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.

TRI-LAKES: High: 90s; Low: 50s. Hot in the low 90s today with partly cloudy skies. An isolated thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon.

PLAINS: High: 90s/100s; Low: 60s. Hot in the upper 90s and 100s today. The day will be mostly dry with a couple of thunderstorms possible in the evening, favoring zones east of La Junta.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Low 90s today with partly cloudy conditions. A few spotty rain showers are possible to the west.

Extended Outlook:
Early Sunday morning a cold front will move in from the northeast, cooling high temperatures by about 10 degrees. Afternoon rain will be heavy in the mountains, with thunderstorms staying strong as they move into the plains.
