Heavy rain possible Sunday with a flash flood watch in place

Today’s Forecast:
Rain showers will be more widespread today and heavy at times. There is a higher risk of flash flooding this afternoon, especially over wildfire burn scars.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for the Sangre De Cristos and Wet mountains, portions of Fremont county, and all of Huerfano county.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 80; Low: 58. Feeling nice today with cooler temperatures. The sky will be cloudy with off and on rain showers through the afternoon and overnight.

PUEBLO: High: 87; Low: 65. Below the 90s today, with clouds. Rain showers likely in the afternoon and overnight.

CANON CITY: High: 81; Low: 65. Cooler today with clouds. Rain showers are likely today and overnight. The flash flood watch includes areas west of town.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 70; Low: 49. Feeling cooler today with clouds in place. Showers and thunderstorms possible after 1 pm.

TRI-LAKES: High: 70s; Low: 50s. Upper 70s today with clouds. Showers and thunderstorms likely off and on this afternoon and evening.

PLAINS: High: 80s/90s; Low: 60s. Upper 80s and low 90s today, nice! Scattered thunderstorms possible this evening and heavy rain is possible overnight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 70s/80s; Low: 50s. Upper 70s in Walsenburg and low 80s in Trinidad today. Spotty thunderstorms this afternoon with heavy rain overnight. Walsenburg is under the flash flood watch.

Extended Outlook:
Monday and Tuesday will likely bring more scattered rain showers. Then dry air moves back into the state Wednesday which reduces rain potential and temperatures will climb again through late week.
