Heat and dry weather persist into next week in Colorado

Today’s Forecast:
Hot, dry, and gusty today in southern Colorado. Today a Red Flag Warning is in effect for all of the eastern plains, plus Chaffee, Fremont, and Teller counties.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 91; Low: 56. HOT today and nearly 15 degrees above average. Likely to stay dry with breezy winds. Red Flag Warning from noon until 8 pm.

PUEBLO: High: 98; Low: 60. Toasty today with dry breezy conditions. Likely to stay dry. Red Flag Warning from noon until 8 pm.

CANON CITY: High: 95; Low: 59. Pretty hot today in Fremont county with dry air and gusty winds. Red Flag Warning from noon until 8 pm.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 80; Low: 50. The warm stretch continues. Teller county is the most recent addition to the fire weather conditions. Red Flag Warning from noon until 8 pm.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Low to mid 80s today with breezy winds. Rain is unlikely. Red Flag Warning from noon until 8 pm.

PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Upper 90s today and perhaps a few spots hitting 100. A few isolated thunderstorms possible later. Red Flag Warning from noon until 8 pm.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s; Low: 50s/60s. Upper 80s today with winds gusting up to 35 mph. Rain potential is low. Red Flag Warning from noon until 8 pm.

Extended Outlook:
More heat and dry weather next week. Fire weather watch is already in place for Monday. That may be the case for Tuesday as well because the forecast does not change much in the next 4 days.
