Tonight's Forecast: Dangerously cold air filters into Southern Colorado tonight. With clear skies and light wind, overnight lows will drop down to the single digits across most of the I-25 corridor. The coldest air will be found in the San Luis Valley, with temperatures as cold as minus 20 by early Monday morning.
COLORADO SPRINGS: Low: 8; High: 35. Layer up Monday morning as we're looking at temperatures in the single digits. Highs warm above freezing for the afternoon, topping out in the middle 30s.
PUEBLO: Low: 7; High: 40. Single digits Monday morning will warm up into the lower 40s by the afternoon under mostly sunny skies.
CANON CITY: Low: 14; High: 36. Teens in the morning before warming into the middle 30s for the afternoon hours. West winds to 10 mph.
WOODLAND PARK: Low: 4; High: 29. We'll stay below freezing all day long in Woodland Park. Dress in layers and make sure to keep the winter gear on hand if you're heading outside on Monday.
TRI-LAKES: Low: 0s; High: 20s/30s. Monday morning will start out with mostly clear skies and single digit temperatures. Highs will only warm into the upper 20s and 30s.
PLAINS: Low: 10s; High: 30s/40s. Cold in the morning on Monday, with a windy and chilly afternoon to follow. Gusts to 35 mph.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low: 0s/10s; High: 30s. A very cold morning will give way to a slightly warmer afternoon on Monday. Highs will top out in the low to mid 30s.
Extended Outlook: Another cold night of weather returns Monday night, with lows Tuesday morning back down to the single digits and teens. Highs will be seasonable on New Year's Eve, with lows at night dropping down to the 10s and 20s. Further warming on tap for New Year's Day, with highs in the 40s and 50s. A wave coming out of the northwest will bring snow to the Central Mountains on Wednesday, with a chance for light snow or flurries locally on Thursday.
