Friday weather: high wind in the plains and snow in the mountains

Tonight's Forecast:
Winds generally stay light this evening, gradually picking up by sunrise in the mountains and the Spanish Peaks region. Then through the afternoon winds expand into the Plains, with many high wind warnings in place. Snow tapers off in the mountains gradually through Friday morning.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low: 24; High: 54. Winds become strong after 11 am through the evening. Temperatures get a boost from the wind.

PUEBLO: Low: 23; High: 58. Becoming very windy in the afternoon until late evening. Mild temperatures with sunshine.

CANON CITY: Low: 29; High: 57. Very windy through the day tomorrow, mild temperature wise.

WOODLAND PARK: Low: 21; High: 45. Not bad for afternoon temperatures, but winds will be very strong for the entire day.

TRI-LAKES: Low: 20s; High: 40s. Wind gusts over 60 mph possible tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures will reach the upper 40s.

PLAINS: Low: 20s; High: 50s/60s. Upper 50s and low 60s with sunshine. The winds will taper heading east of the front range, but a breezy day still expected.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low: 20s; High: 40s/50s. Very windy all day Friday! Secure loose outdoor items. Temperatures will reach the upper 40s in Walsenburg and low 50s in Trinidad.

Extended Outlook:
Conditions calm down for the weekend once Friday's storm passes by. Saturday will be cool with the cold air lingering from Friday's cold front, to the 30s in the mountains and 40s in the Plains. Sunday temperatures rebound a bit to the 40s and 50s in the Plains and more mountain valleys hitting 40s as well.
