Flash flood threat for the mountains Sunday

Today’s Forecast:
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect from noon until 8 pm for the Sangre De Cristos and Wet mountains. Slow-moving, heavy rain showers will be widespread in the mountains early today and slowly move east into the plains.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 88; Low: 58. Cooler and closer to seasonal average today. Thunderstorms are possible after 2 pm.

PUEBLO: High: 92; Low: 62. Warm, but finally out of the triple digits today. Thunderstorms are possible after 4 pm.

CANON CITY: High: 90; Low: 64. Warm today with clouds and thunderstorms possible after 1 pm.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 78; Low: 51. Cooler today with partly cloudy conditions. Rain showers and thunderstorms possible during the early afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Mid 80s today with thunderstorms possible after 2 pm.

PLAINS: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Mid to upper 90s and more humid today

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 80s; Low: 50s. Upper 80s today and feeling some nice relief from scorching heat. Thunderstorms likely after 1 pm.

Extended Outlook:
Looking ahead to next week, a weather pattern is setting up that is more conducive to rain and thunderstorms. This looks like a great change which will keep fire danger low and increase daily thunderstorm chances.
