Better chances for rain as we start the first full week of summer

Tonight's Forecast:
A few isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible near the mountains this evening, with rain chances diminishing after sunset. After the rain showers taper off, we'll see a cold front drop in late tonight, which will bring breezy north winds and pleasant overnight lows to Southern Colorado.

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low: 56; High: 80. Slightly cooler temperatures on Monday, with better chances for afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

PUEBLO: Low: 58; High: 88. We'll see a slightly cooler start to the week, with scattered showers and thunderstorms after 4 pm.

CANON CITY: Low: 57; High: 86. A fairly typical summer day on Monday for the Canon City area. We'll see seasonable temperatures and scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

WOODLAND PARK: Low: 50; High: 70. Bright and pleasant in the morning, with increasing clouds and storm chances over Teller County by the afternoon.

TRI-LAKES: Low: 50s; High: 70s. Sunshine and pleasant morning temperatures will give way to scattered afternoon thunderstorms and seasonable daytime highs.

PLAINS: Low: 50s/60s; High: 80s. Sunny skies Monday morning will likely turn stormy by late afternoon. For the Plains, rain chances will increase after 4 pm.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low: 50s; High: 80s. A bright and sunny morning will turn cloudy and stormy in the afternoon, with increasing chances on Monday for thunderstorms.

Extended Outlook:
An uptick in thunderstorm activity is expected across Southern Colorado on Tuesday. The main threats will be strong winds and some hail. A drier mid-week pattern is expected to follow for areas along and east of I-25. At the same time, summer-time heat will return for all areas by the middle of the week. Thursday will be the hottest day as highs will soar into the 90s across the Plains.
