Another hot weekend is ahead with record highs expected Sunday

Today’s Forecast: Starting with clouds from moisture left over from Friday evening thunderstorms. This will start to clear out as dry winds come into the state from the west. Temperatures will be above average today with partly cloudy conditions this afternoon. A few thunderstorms are possible in Prowers or Baca county, quickly moving across state lines.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 88; Low - 56. Very warm today after the morning clouds clear. It will be a great summer day to spend outside, rising to the upper 80s. Any rain showers will mostly evaporate before hitting the ground. Tonight will be chilly to the mid 50s.

PUEBLO: High - 94; Low - 57. Hot today in Pueblo with afternoon sunshine and mid 90s. The chance for rain is low today and winds will be breezy. It will be a great day to head to the Colorado State Fair.

CANON CITY: High - 93; Low - 58. Hot for Canon City today in the 90s and breezy in the afternoon. The sky will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny. The chance for rain is low.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 79; Low - 50. Nice and warm today with mostly clear conditions. The afternoon will be breezy with dry air moving in.

TRI-LAKES: High - 80s; Low - 50s. The Tri-lakes will be in the low to mid 80s today with plenty of sunshine. A few afternoon clouds are possible with a stray shower.

PLAINS: High - 90s; Low - 60s. Hot today with a sunny day over all. Springfield and Lamar may see an isolated strong thunderstorm this afternoon.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 90s; Low - 60s. Hot today to the low to mid 90s in Walsenburg and Trinidad. Dry breezy air is moving in from the west, reducing rain potential.

Extended Outlook: The hottest day this weekend will be Sunday where temperatures threaten daily records. The forecast in Pueblo tomorrow is 100, and the record is 98. For the Springs the forecast and record is 94. Then a breezy cold front arrives Monday which takes temperatures back down about 10 degrees. Next week will be seasonable with periodic rain chances in the evenings.
