After a cold start, warmer highs return to Southern Colorado on Tuesday

Today’s Forecast: You'll want to grab the hats, gloves and winter jackets as you head outside this morning as it will be cold for the first part of the day. Highs will be nice and mild for the afternoon, with temperatures warming into the 30s, 40s and lower 50s in Southern Colorado today.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 44; Low: 20. After a cold start to the day, temperatures will warm up into the 40s by the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Light and variable winds today to 10 mph.

PUEBLO: High: 49; Low: 15. Sunshine and mild temperatures this afternoon for Pueblo. Another round of cold air returns tonight, with lows dropping down to the teens.

CANON CITY: High: 48; Low: 27. A nice Tuesday on tap for Canon City. Highs will warm into the upper 40s today, with lows tonight dropping down to the upper 20s.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 37; Low: 19. Chilly highs today, with temperatures only warming into the upper 30s. Cold overnight temperatures return, with lows tonight falling through the teens.

TRI-LAKES: High: 40s; Low: 10s. Mostly sunny skies this afternoon will boost temperatures into the lower 40s. Another cold night follows, with overnight lows returning to the teens.

PLAINS: High: 40s/50s; Low: 10s/20s. Bitterly cold this morning across the Plains. Temperatures will warm nicely through the afternoon, with highs soaring into the 40s and lower 50s.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 40s/50s; Low: 10s/20s. High pressure will push temperatures into the 40s and low 50s today. Another cold night follows with lows tonight in the teens and 20s.

Extended Outlook: Dry skies and warmer temperatures on Wednesday will bring us some fantastic mid-week weather conditions. A passing cold front Wednesday evening will bring stronger breezes to our forecast heading into Thursday, along with a slight cool down. Our next chance for winter weather returns to the mountains Thursday night and Friday, with a rain/snow mix possible across the Pikes Peak region Friday night and Saturday. Colder air and better chances for snow move in on Sunday, with clearing skies by early next week.
