A warm Saturday is ahead with more thunderstorms

Today’s Forecast: Get your outdoor chores done by the early afternoon today, because numerous mountain showers and isolated thunderstorms along I-25 are likely today. The severe weather threat is low, but the flash flood potential is high today. Those who see storms may experience heavy rain leading to flash flooding conditions, frequent lightning, gusty winds, and small hail.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High - 86; Low - 60. Warm and sunny to start, followed by isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Rain is possible any time after lunch through early evening. Watch for flooded roadways.

PUEBLO: High - 92; Low - 63. Pueblo stays hot and dry through the bulk of Saturday, with thunderstorms possible late afternoon until sunset.

CANON CITY: High - 91; Low - 63. Temperatures will rise quickly today, to the low 90s as afternoon clouds build. Showers and thunderstorms are possible after lunch through late evening.

WOODLAND PARK: High - 77; Low - 55. Saturday starts sunny and warm, to the upper 70s . A stormy afternoon is likely in Woodland Park, starting around noon. Heavy rain and lightning will be the main threats.

TRI-LAKES: High - 80s; Low - 50s. The tri-lakes may see an isolated thunderstorm forming off the Palmer Divide and moving southeast this afternoon. Temperatures will be warm to the low 80s before then.

PLAINS: High - 90s; Low - 60s. Hot today and mostly dry. Highs will be in the low 90s in the Plains. An isolated thunderstorm is possible, but most of the Plains will stay rain-free.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High - 80s; Low - 60s. Temperatures will climb to the mid 80s today, with more heavy rain possible this evening. Flash flooding is a possibility again for the Spring Burn scar. Also watch for lightning this evening.

Extended Outlook: On Sunday, mountain showers are still likely, with drier air on the Plains. Only isolated storms will make it out of the mountains Sunday. Temperatures will be just slightly above average, and a few degrees warmer than today. Next week brings daily rain chances in the afternoon with seasonable temperatures.
