A mild and breezy end to the weekend for Southern Colorado

Today’s Forecast: Mountain snow showers will taper off by early afternoon, with the weather today east of the mountains expected to stay dry. There will be variable cloud cover across Southern Colorado this afternoon, along with some gusty winds.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 55; Low: 30. Dry, mild and breezy as we wrap up the weekend on a nice note for the Springs. Afternoon wind gusts 20-30 mph.

PUEBLO: High: 62; Low: 30. We'll see a gorgeous end to the weekend in Pueblo, with highs warming into the lower 60s this afternoon.

CANON CITY: High: 60; Low: 35. Breezy, with ample sunshine today. Highs will warm into the lower 60s.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 46; Low: 24. It will be another breezy afternoon across Teller County as a weak storm system criss-crosses the Central Mountains.

TRI-LAKES: High: 50s; Low: 20s. Mostly sunny skies this morning will give way to a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon, and a nice and mild end to the weekend.

PLAINS: High: 50s/60s; Low: 30s. It will be a mild and windy afternoon across the Plains. Peak wind gusts 30-40 mph.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 50s/60s; Low: 30s. Sunshine early, with our forecast turning partly cloudy and windy for the afternoon hours.

Extended Outlook: Strong wind on Monday could prompt Red Flag Warnings for parts of Southern Colorado, especially for areas east of I-25. It's still too early to tell, but we'll keep you posted on koaa.com. A pretty nice warming trend will continue early next week, with highs peaking on Wednesday. Our next storm follows late next week, with rain and snow chances returning to the forecast Thursday evening.
