A couple of strong thunderstorms possible in southern Colorado Sunday

Today’s Forecast:
This morning is humid with clouds in the plains and clear skies in the mountains. The afternoon will be hot again with thunderstorms developing in the mountains from 12-3 and moving to the I-25 corridor from 2-5 and into the eastern plains this evening. There is a threat for hail and damaging winds today.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High: 92; Low: 63. Hot through midday with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon, with hail a threat today.

PUEBLO: High: 99; Low: 69. Temperatures climb quickly through the day after morning clouds clear, with spotty thunderstorms possible in the later afternoon. Hail is possible today.

CANON CITY: High: 98; Low: 68. Hot with sun in the early daytime, with showers and thunderstorms possible from 1-4, with low severe threat.

WOODLAND PARK: High: 82; Low: 57. Very warm today with cloudy and spotty thunderstorms possible in the early afternoon, with the severe threat staying low.

TRI-LAKES: High: 80s; Low: 60s. Mid 80s today with thunderstorms developing this afternoon, with hail possible.

PLAINS: High: 90s/100s; Low: 60s. Upper 90s and a couple 100's in the plains after morning clouds clear. Strong to severe thunderstorms possible this evening.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High: 90s; Low: 60s. Low to mid 90s today with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Extended Outlook:
Monday will be the hottest day of next week, with isolated thunderstorms still possible in the afternoon. A cold front will move in Tuesday evening which will provide more opportunity for rain and thunderstorms through Wednesday. Wednesday will be cooler and closer to average highs.
