Today’s Forecast:
Today is going to be the nicest day of the week with warm temperatures and only a few areas actually seeing rain. We’ll start with sunny skies across the region but cloud cover will quickly thicken up as we head into the afternoon. A few scattered showers are possible in the Pikes Peak region this afternoon, but Colorado Springs and most of the main surrounding towns are expected to stay dry today and this evening. After midnight, an easterly push of wind is going to bring light rain, drizzle, and fog overnight into Tuesday morning.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 72; Low – 45. Increasing clouds today with only a small chance for a late day isolated shower. Rain chances are better east of town near Calhan later today. Light rain, drizzle, and fog are likely after midnight through Tuesday morning.

PUEBLO: High – 79; Low – 49.  Sunny skies in the morning with increasing clouds in the afternoon. We will likely stay dry across Pueblo today with breezy and mild conditions through the afternoon. Light rain, drizzle, and fog are likely after midnight through Tuesday morning.

CANON CITY: High – 75; Low – 50. Sunny skies in the morning with increasing clouds in the afternoon. We will likely stay dry across Canon City today with breezy and mild conditions through the afternoon. Light rain, drizzle, and fog are likely after midnight through Tuesday morning.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 60; Low – 39. Sunny skies in the morning with increasing clouds through the afternoon. A stray shower is possible but unlikely by the end of the day. Light showers are drizzle are possible tonight after midnight but it’s more likely for areas east of town like along Ute Pass.

TRI-LAKES: High – 60s; Low – 40s. Sunny in the morning with increasing cloud cover through the day. Isolated showers are more likely over the Tri-Lakes than anywhere else in El Paso County today, but chances are still best east of the area from the afternoon to the early evening. Light rain, drizzle, and fog are likely after midnight through Tuesday morning.

PLAINS: High – 70s; Low – 40s. Sunny skies in the morning with increasing cloud cover and stronger winds through the afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon with more rain and drizzle expected overnight past midnight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 70s; Low – 40s. Sunny skies in the morning with increasing clouds and stronger winds through the afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms could pop over Walsenburg to Trinidad but any rain is more likely this afternoon east into the plains. Rain and a few thunderstorms are possible after midnight to Tuesday morning.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:
Rain and snow chances increase starting tonight and stay in the forecast through Friday afternoon. Tuesday is going to start with drizzle and light showers with rain returning in the late afternoon through Wednesday morning. Wednesday night we’re going to see rain during the day turn to a rain/snow mix and straight up snow overnight into Thursday morning. Snow overnight is likely to drop down to 6,000 feet, meaning Colorado Springs will probably wake up seeing snow by Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon we’ll see a rain/snow mix with snow back again by Friday morning. It’s too early to know how much snow will fall, but it looks to be enough that we’ll have difficult commutes both Thursday and Friday morning, especially over Monument Hill, Teller County and in/around our southern mountains.
