Today’s Forecast:
Let the flip flops and Hawaiian shirts fly today, we’re going to see the warmest air of the year today! There are Red Flag Warnings in effect through the San Luis Valley, so be careful in that region with elevated fire danger. Cloud cover will be thick at times but it shouldn’t affect the warm-up too much, we’re still seeing highs in the lower elevations well into the 70s and low 80s. Tonight we’ll see fewer clouds and low temperatures will fall back to the low to mid-40s.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 75; Low – 43. Mostly cloudy with light winds and near record high temps (record for today is 76 degrees).

PUEBLO: High – 82; Low – 44.  A mix of sun and clouds with light winds and very warm temperatures (record for today is 85 degrees).

CANON CITY: High – 80; Low – 44. A mix of sun and clouds with light winds and very warm temperatures.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 60; Low – 37. Mostly cloudy skies with light winds and wonderful temperatures.

TRI-LAKES: High – 70; Low – 30s. Mostly cloudy skies with light winds and perfect temperatures.

PLAINS: High – 80s; Low – 40s. A mix of sun and clouds with light winds and very warm, almost hot, temperatures.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 70s; Low – 40s. A mix of sun and clouds with light winds and very warm temperatures.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:
As warm as today is going to be, Thursday will be just about as nice! Temperatures will be around 2 to 3 degrees cooler than today, but with stronger winds and higher fire danger in the I-25 corridor and grassy areas. A few showers are possible late Thursday night after 10 pm with a better chance for rain Friday from the morning to the afternoon. A bit of snow is possible Friday night, especially in the mountains, but with very low accumulation expected.
