There were three great buckets for this year's KOAA News 5 Sports "Shot of the Year," however in the end, the state's best player ran away with the poll.
Back in February, The Vanguard School and Manitou Springs played an instant classic in a 3A Tri-Peaks boys basketball showdown.
During the contest, Coursers senior standout and Gatorade Player of the Year, Dominique Clifford, wowed the crowd with several pretty shots, including a fade away jumper, which won this year's honors for the Colorado commit.
"That's my little Kobe fade away, that's my Kobe fade away, I like to do that little spin jumper," Clifford said. "That game I was struggling a little bit, couldn't get a lot to fall. But we needed that shot. I love the energy that gym has, the intensity, everyone is playing competitively. I think the environment is the biggest piece of it, love the crowd, the energy, it hypes us up as players."
Clifford is currently working out at home and hopes to be ready to join the Buffaloes basketball team in June.
