COLORADO SPRINGS — For the second consecutive season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team was voted No. 2 in the conference preseason poll after receiving 121 points and three first place votes, as announced by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Tuesday.
Colorado School of Mines comes in as the preseason favorites with 137 points and eight first place votes.
The 2020-21 UCCS women's soccer roster returns over half of the 2019 RMAC Regular Season Champion team
The 2019 season was one for the record books as the Mountain Lions, with UCCS winning an RMAC Regular Season Championship, an undefeated regular season (19-0), United Soccer Coaches No. 1 national ranking, and a No. 1 seeding in the NCAA South Central Region Tournament.
The Mountain Lions' season is slated to begin on Sunday, Mar.7 as they play host to Western Colorado University for a 2 p.m. match inside Mountain Lion Stadium.
