GRAND JUNCTION — The University of Colorado- Colorado Springs men's basketball team fell to Colorado-Mesa 69-66 in the RMAC Quarterfinals at Brownson Arena.
It was a back-and-forth contest in the No. 4-5 matchup Tuesday night, with the Mountain Lions rallying from a 35-29 halftime deficit to take a seven-point lead down the stretch.
However, the Mavericks would hang around and Tommy Nuno's jumper with 68 seconds remaining would put the home team ahead for good.
Forward Ed Bourke led UCCS with 15 points, with guard Padiet Wang adding 12.
Barring an at-large berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament, the Mountain Lions season ends at 17-11.
