COLORADO SPRINGS — The UCCS men's basketball program (1-1, 1-1 RMAC) opened the game on an 11-0 run and never looked back in an 83-67 win over CSU-Pueblo (0-2, 0-2 RMAC) Thursday night at the Gallogly Events Center.
Picking up their first victory of the season, the Mountain Lions shot 47.5% from the field, including 9-of-18 from three-point range.
William Becker and DaRaun Clark paced the home squad with 13 points apiece, as four players reached double figures on the night.
The Thunderwolves had three players score at least 10 points, including Tre Brown who led all scorers with 20 points and Pueblo West graduate David Simental added 15.
Both teams hit the road for contests on Saturday. UCCS plays at the Colorado School of Mines (7 p.m.), with CSU-Pueblo taking on Colorado State (2 p.m.).
