FOUNTAIN — Friday kicked off Day 1 of the 3rd Annual Fountain-Fort Carson Invitational Softball Tournament.
This year's tournament is made up of a handful of Southern Colorado teams that include the Trojans, Lewis-Palmer, Doherty, Pine Creek, Liberty, Rampart & Widefield.
On Day 1, the Trojans picked up a 17-2 win over Pine Creek in a 3-inning mercy rule. Fountain-Fort Carson will need a win over Limon on Saturday to make the championship game.
The Liberty Lancers also picked up a win on Friday over Doherty, 11 to 8.
The tournament's championship game is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday at Fountain-Fort Carson High School.
