The St. Mary's girls basketball team rolled past Eagle Ridge Academy 72-19 in their Class 3A playoff opener Friday night.
Ranked No. 1 heading into the state tournament, the Lady Pirates looked the part in their first round match up, jumping out to a 9-2 and never looking back.
Having won back-to-back championships, SMHS is a serious favorite to repeat and are well on their way with the opening performance.
Mike Burkett's team is now 22-1 and will meet Jefferson County in the Sweet 16 Saturday at 1 p.m.
