COLORADO SPRINGS — The Rocky Mountain Vibes announced Monday that professional baseball is here to stay in Colorado Springs.
Going forward, the team will be a part of a new Major League Baseball Partnership League. The Vibes will join seven other teams in the Pioneer League.
The league will have a 92 game season that begins on Memorial Day weekend and concludes in early September. The league has an MLB affiliation but is not the minor leagues. Players can come from anywhere.
The Vibes said the league will give fans more opportunities to the team play, as there will be 46 home games compared to the 38 played during the 2019 season. The organization will also bring back various promotions like Friday Night Fireworks.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Major League Baseball to keep high level professional baseball in Colorado Springs. We’re keeping the Vibes alive and are excited to announce new upgrades and initiatives for the 2021 Season in the coming months," Vibes President & General Manager Chris Phillips said.
