DENVER — It only took one phone call to change Case Williams baseball career.
The Douglas County product was selected by the hometown team, the Colorado Rockies, in the 4th round of the 2020 MLB draft.
Williams was the first Colorado product selected in this year's draft and was surprised to even be picked after committing to play college baseball at Santa Clara.
"I've always been a Rockies fan and so grateful for the opportunity to represent my hometown and bleed the purple once again," said Williams. "I'm super excited for what's to come and what I can do with the Rockies."
As for what is next for Williams, he hasn’t made a decision as to whether or not he’ll sign with the Rockies, or go to college.
