COLORADO SPRINGS — On Saturday night, the Rampart Rams & the St. Mary's Pirates boy's basketball teams both earned some big time roads win.
For the Pirates, their game with Colorado Springs Christian came down to the wire, edging the Lions, 63 to 60.
The win continues St. Mary's undefeated season, as they will face Salida on the road on Wednesday.
As for CSCS, they move to 4-2 with the last-second loss, and will travel to Florence to take on the Huskies on Wednesday.
In the 5A level, two powerhouse programs in Rampart & Doherty went at it on Saturday night.
The Spartans entered the game undefeated (6-0), while the Rams only loss of the season came on a buzzer beater.
After a back and forth first half, the Rams came out firing at the end of the 3rd quarter and start of the 4th.
That led to a 80-58 blowout Rampart win, handing Doherty thier first loss of the season.
The Rams will now host Vista Ridge on Wednesday, while the Spartans will be on the road against Discovery Canyon on the same night.
