PUEBLO — According to Pueblo West Athletic Director Zach Odell, the Cyclones girl's basketball will have a new head coach for next season in Valerie Stambersky.

The girl's basketball program is coming off three consecutive South-Central League Titles, including six of the last eight Great Eight appearances, and four Final Four appearances in 2014, 2015, 2017 & 2018.

Stambersky most recently was the head coach at Warrensburg High School in Missouri since 2017.

Prior to that, she was the head coach at Kansas City Kansas Community College where she amassed 221 wins in six years, becoming the winningest coach in program history.

"I would like to thank Mr. Odell and the hiring committee for the opportunity to be the next head varsity basketball coach at Pueblo West high school," said Stambersky in a press release. "I am honored and excited to work with a high-caliber program such as Pueblo West and continue in its winning traditions. I look forward to helping these young ladies grow both on and off the court and having a lot of fun along the way."

Pueblo West will move from 4A to 5A next season.
