COLORADO SPRINGS — On Thursday, the was no bigger present under the Christmas tree for Palmer Ridge rising junior Connor Jones than making his college decision.
The 3-star offensive lineman is in high-demand, with 8 scholarship offers to choose from.
"My final five schools were Indiana, Northwestern, Michigan, Oregon State, and Virginia," explained Jones.
But before any announcement was made, the Monument native wanted to make sure he thanked the people who have been by his side since Day 1.
"My family - they're the most important part of my life," said Jones. "They are my main support stream. Then for my teammates, they are the guys I play with and go on the field and compete with. They are forever my brothers. We share blood sweat and tears, so there's a bond that will never be broken. And finally my coaches, they are my mentors. They have taught me pretty much everything I know up to this point."
And with that, Jones opened his letterman jacket and committed to:
"The Michigan Wolverines," Connor said with a big smile.
As for the reason why he chose Ann Arbor & the Big 10, Jones said the Wolverines met his three criteria.
"They have that hometown feel," explained Jones. "I went there on my visit and it felt like home to me. And then they have my degree plan I want to go into Kinesiology and they have a pretty good program for that. And the final reason is development. Obviously, the NFL is plan A, so if you wanna get developed, Michigan is the best place to go."
