Acacia Park was the sight of a pretty cool hockey tournament Monday and Tuesday.

The Colorado Springs Amateur Hockey Association hosting a 10U 3-on-3 girls pond hockey tournament on the ice skating rink downtown.

It's a two-day event, allowing 21 young female athletes the chance to showcase their skills and have plenty of fun in the process.

"I wish I could score as many goals in a real game as I score here," hockey player Inga Vaida said.

Several of the hockey players said the best part of the event, was that boys had to sit on the bench for it.

"So much fun, it's really fun just to be out without boys," hockey player Shayla Buttenwieser said. "It's really fun considering it's girls only."

"It's actually really fun playing with girls my age that like playing hockey," hockey player Scarlett Westerlund said.
