COLORADO SPRINGS — After Mike Burkett announced his retirement after 21-years at the helm of the St. Mary's girls basketball, the Pirates did not have to go far to find his replacement.
Mike's son, Kyle Burkett, who has sat the sidelines with his father as an assistant for the program, was named head coach this week.
Kyle has been with the program for the past three consecutive state title wins.
