USAFA — The Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series™ at Falcon Stadium is a little over a month away and preparations have already begun for the big game between the Colorado Avalanche and the LA Kings.
Steve Mayer, the NHL Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President, spoke exclusively with KOAA News 5 Sports Jake Gadon about what fans can expect on game-day and the days prior.
Mayer, who oversees the Events & Entertainment department at the NHL, explains that this year's NHL Stadium Series will be like no other hockey game that has ever been played before.
Country music superstar Sam Hunt will perform for fans in attendance and those watching at home during the first intermission. Additional musical performers will be announced at a later date.
The game on February 15th will be the 30th NHL game played outside, as well as the 2nd NHL game played at a U.S. Service Academy.
The game will be broadcast at 8 p.m. ET on KOAA.
