Hammond's big day leads Air Force past New Mexico, 44-22

Behind a career-high 327 passing yards and four touchdowns from junior quarterback DJ Hammond III, Air Force topped New Mexico 44-22 Saturday at Dreamstyle Stadium.

Leading 14-10 at halftime, the Falcons took off in the second half, outscoring the Lobos 30-12 for their first win in Albuquerque since 2011.

With the victory, Air Force improves to 9-2 for the first time since 1998 and currently sits at 6-1 in the Mountain West Conference.

Senior wide receivers Geraud Sanders (156 receiving yards) and Ben Waters (171 receiving yards) had career days, catching all nine of Hammond's passes, including a pair of touchdowns.

The Falcons will finish their regular season next Saturday when they host Wyoming. Kick-off at Falcon Stadium is set for 12 p.m.
