Here on Friday Football Fever we show you our picks of the three best plays of the night, then you vote! We'll announce the winner on Monday night in News5 at 6 p.m.
Our first play of the night comes from Pueblo West and Air Academy as Kadet senior Are'on Burr comes with the textbook strip sack on the Cyclones quarterback Cole Brinkley. A perfect tackle from behind for the future Division 1 star, but the Kadets would end up losing to the Cyclones.
Our second play of the night comes from the Florence Huskeys' 48-6 win over the Rocky Ford Meloneers. On the first play from scrimmage, a halfback toss from Lincoln Nix to Jacob Kennedy, who throws it deep to freshman Luguse Nuss. An unreal 1-handed grab to set up the touchdown.
And our final play of the night comes from our Game of the Week as the East High School Eagles of Pueblo give a little razzle dazzle. Jaxson Herring drops it off to Brenden Harding. But it's a fake! Harding finds Keenan King wide open, who then gets in a stiff arm against a defender to make it to the endzone. The Eagles certainly flew on that play, yet fell to Canon City with a score of 24-18.
