COLORADO SPRINGS — Behind the legs of senior quarterback Cale Cormaney and a stout defensive effort, Rampart stunned undefeated Fountain-Fort Carson 17-14 Thursday night at Garry Berry Stadium.

In a meeting atop the 4A Southern League, the Rams rallied from a 7-3 halftime deficit for their biggest win of the season.

Cormaney, who had a rushing touchdown in the contest, sealed the game with an interception in the final 90 seconds.

"That win right there proves we get looked over a lot and I think we're the hardest working team in the city in my opinion, if not the state," Cormaney said. "This win right here shows, we shouldn't be looked over, we deserve a spot in the top 8 and we can play with anyone out here."

With the victory, Rampart improves to 4-1 while FFC falls to 4-1 in a division now entirely up for grabs.

"A lot of people outside of here will call this an upset, but we know different," Rams head coach Troy Ward said.
