Canon City rolls past Pueblo Central in Monday showdown

PUEBLO — In the first Monday game at Dutch Clark Stadium, the Canon City football team scored 42 unanswered points to cruise past Pueblo Central 42-7.

Following a Wildcats score on a botched punt, the Tigers responded with the next three touchdowns. Running back Dylan O'Rourke and quarterback Lucas Wolcott leading the charge on offense to take a 21-7 lead into halftime.

The final two quarters proved to be more of the same as Canon City added 21 points to cruise to a 3-0 start to the season. Pueblo Central falls to 1-3 on the year.

A huge litmus tests awaits CCHS on Friday night as they host also undefeated Pueblo South (2-0) at 7 p.m.
