According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, former Colorado Buffaloes star wide receiver Laviska Shenault, who has been dealing with core muscle injury and inflammation of the pubic bone, will have surgery that is expected to sideline him 4-6 weeks.

The news comes after Shenault posted a disappointing 4.58-second time in the 40-yard dash Thursday night at the NFL Combine -- tied for 33rd-best among receivers. Shenault would not run for his second heat.

The injury has been nagging the CU star for the majority of his junior campaign, which can explain for the major drop in production from his sensational sophomore season.

The surgery will prevent Shenault from participating in CU's Pro Day on March 11, and may cost him to drop to the second round of the NFL Draft in late-April.
