There were three great choices for this year's News 5 Sports "Assist of the Year" including Fountain-Fort Carson's Torie Bass, Manitou Spring's Joah Armour and Evangelical Christian's Landon Bunker.
However, only one dish could serve as No. 1 and the 2019-20 honors went to Bass for her gorgeous pass to Tauja Durham against Columbine in the second round of the Class 5A Playoffs.
The Trojans would fall in the contest 51-39 in overtime but the junior will return next year with a chance to take the next step and defend her title.
"I knew because I was dribbling that they were double-teaming, so I looked up and if there's two on me, there's one open," Bass said. "She was open so I hit her and she finished. It just happened so they know if they're open it's coming right away, hard and fast, I think it's exciting for them too."
Coming up on Sunday we will reveal the three nominees for the "Shot of the Year", send all submissions to sports@koaa.com
