PHOENIX — The Air Force men’s basketball (4-12, 2-10 MW) dropped a 75-62 Mountain West contest to San José State (5-11, 3-9 MW) Saturday afternoon at Ability 360 Sports & Fitness Center.
Junior AJ Walker scored 16 points to lead the Falcons.
The loss also moves the Falcons losing streak to 5-straight games, all of which are Mountain West Conference contests.
Air Force dug its self a big hole in the first half, trailing by as many as 16 points.
The Falcons got game down to three points late in the game, but could not get over the hump. Three three’s by Trey Smith of SJSU with under five minutes to play put the game out of reach.
Air Force had four reach double figures in scoring, led by Walker’s 16. Nikc Jackson added 14 points and four assists. Chris Joyce scored 13 points to go with three rebounds. Glen McClintock was the fourth Falcon in double figures, scoring 12 points and just missing a double-double with eight rebounds.
Forward Ralph Agee led San Jose State with 22 points on 9 of 11 shooting. Trey Smith added 21 points with five three’s and Sebastian Mendoza 13.
Air Force returns to action Feb. 6 at UNLV. Tip time is 1 pm PT and the game will be televised by CBS Sports.
