PUEBLO — The Colorado State University Pueblo football program added 27 student-athletes Wednesday on National Signing Day, many of which are former Southern Colorado high school football stars.

The class as a whole totaled 16 signees on the offensive side and 11 signees on the defensive side.

According to head coach John Wristen, the Pack focused on players for the offensive and defensive line.

As always the Thunderwolves signed a strong contingent of student-athletes from Colorado with 24 total players between the NLI and ILI commitments hailing from the Centennial State.

The Pack rounded out their class with a player from Arizona, California and Wyoming.

In addition, CSU-Pueblo had the unique opportunity to host the CHSAA football state championships this year. Because of that, Wristen was able to sign six players from this year's state championship teams.

Some of the local Southern Colorado stars include:

CJ Brown

Pueblo East
Buddy Almintakh

Pueblo South
Luke Guarienti
Jordan Estrada
