COLORADO SPRINGS — Five local Southern Colorado high school football teams were in action on Saturday, wrapping up Week 4 of the Colorado high school football season.

Over at Garry Berry Stadium, a doubleheader took place with Coronado and Cheyenne Mountain in the early game, and Liberty & Thornton in the second game.

The Lancer got off to a slow start, but thanks to a second-half surge, Liberty defeated Thornton, 29 to 27.
