OMAHA, Neb. — The Colorado College (2-3-1) men's hockey team took a 3-0 first period lead but couldn't hold it in a 4-3 overtime loss to No. 9 St. Cloud State (5-3) Friday night at Baxter Arena.
Logan Will, Josiah Slavin, and Grant Cruikshank each scored in the opening 20 minutes for the Tigers, who led the Huskies 3-1 heading into the first intermission.
However, Colorado College couldn't stay out of the penalty box, taking six total in the game and allowing SCSU back into the NCHC contest.
Trailing 3-2 with 81 seconds to play, Nick Perbix tied it up before Sam Hentges ended it on the power play in overtime.
With the loss, the Tigers have their two-game win streak snapped. Mike Haviland's team will look to turn the page quickly as they take on Miami (OH) Saturday night. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
