ENGLEWOOD -- Brandon McManus sat down for his postgame Zoom interview last Sunday with his shirt unbuttoned. He looked like Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever. The V in his top's appearance stood for victory. Or should have.

McManus won the game with a Broncos' team record six field goals against the Patriots. Wednesday, he won AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He joined running back Mike Anderson (Weeks 13-14) as the only Broncos to receive player of week honors in consecutive games within a season.

McManus, a team captain, was an easy selection. He helped Denver become the first team to defeat a Bill Belichick led Patriots club without scoring a touchdown. In those games teams are 1-39.

"That's a good stat," McManus told Denver7.

McManus has been McMoney, showing why the Broncos awarded him with a four-year, $17.2 million extension through 2024. He delivered six field goals in the 18-12 victory, only the 32nd time an NFL player has attempted that many kicks without a miss.

His distances were 45, 44, 27, 52, 20 and 54 yards. This outing followed the Jets game when he converted four extra points and three field goals, including a 54-yarder.

In his eighth season, McManus continues improving. He will always be remembered for his nervy performances in 2015 that helped Denver reach and win Super Bowl 50.

However, he is arguably better now at age 29. In the three previous seasons, McManus was 12-for-26 on field goals of at least 50 yards. He is 5-for-6 from that distance this season. His five 50-yard field goals rank first in the league, and have tied his career high set in 2015.

For the season, McManus is 12 of 13 on field goals and 8-for-8 on extra points.
