DENVER — Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar has been named one of three finalists for the 2019-20 Calder Memorial Trophy.
The award is presented annually to the NHL's most outstanding rookie.
The former fourth overall pick in the 2017 NHL draft is joined by Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes and Chicago Blackhawks left wing Dominik Kubalik as finalists for the award.
"Obviously all of us are here because we have such a great supporting cast," a humble Makar said on Wednesday afternoon. "I think that's what was able to give us all success this year."
The winner of the Calder Trophy will be announced during the Conference Finals.
