COLORADO SPRINGS — Air Force senior quarterback Donald Hammond III was named to the Davey O'Brien Award Watch List Tuesday afternoon.

The list recognizes 30 returning players at the position across NCAA football and Hammond is one of two from the Mountain West along with Boise State's Hank Bachmeier.

Starting 11 of 13 games last season, the dual-threat standout rushed for 553 yards and a team-best 13 rushing touchdowns while adding 1,316 yards through the air and an additional 13 scores.

Hammond ranked second in the Mountain West in scoring (touchdowns) with a 6.2 average and 10th in passing yards with a 101.2 norm. His 177.88 quarterback efficiency rating is the second-best in school history.

A key piece to the Falcons 11-2 finish in 2019, No. 5 will be counted on to lead head coach Troy Calhoun's triple-option offense in his final campaign with the Academy.

Air Force's season kicks off at Falcon Stadium Sept. 5th against Duquesne.
