RENO, NEVADA — Trailing by nine (33-24) at the half, the Air Force men's basketball team (3-3, 1-1 MWC) closed on a 44-33 run to top Nevada (6-3, 1-1 MWC) 68-66 Sunday afternoon at Lawlor Events Center.
It was the first-ever road win at Nevada for the Falcons, who snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Wolf Pack in the process.
Junior guard AJ Walker scored a career-high 27 points and senior guard Chris Joyce added 18 in the winning effort.
The Falcons shot 49 percent from the field and 89 percent from the free-throw line. Air Force went 16 of 18 from the line.
Senior Keaton Van Soelen had a solid all-around game, with a career-high six assists to go with six points and five rebounds. Sophomore forward Nikc Jackson gritted out seven points and five rebounds, to go with career-highs of four assists and four steals.
Air Force’s next scheduled game is Dec. 31 at home against Utah State.
