COLORADO SPRINGS — According to multiple reports, Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun is a finalist for the open Colorado Buffaloes head football coaching position.

Denver 7 insider Troy Renck confirmed Wednesday morning that Calhoun did indeed interview for the CU job.

Renck is also reporting that former USC head coach and current Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is expected to interview for the job.

According to a separate report from FootballScoop.com, Calhoun and former Arkansas head coach and current New York Giants outside linebacker coach Bret Bielema are the top two finalists for the job.

Current CU alum and Kansas City Chiefs Eric Bieniemy remains among the top candidates, as well as CU interim head coach Darrin Chiaverini, a former Buff receiver and current Buff receivers coach, who interviewed for the full-time position on Monday.

As we reported back in back in January, Air Force and Calhoun were close to a new contract that would extend him through the 2025 season with the Falcons.

This story is on-going and will be updated as new information becomes available.
