COLORADO SPRINGS — The Air Force women's basketball team dropped their season opener to Denver Wednesday night, 72-56 at Clune Arena.
Falcons junior guard Briana Autrey-Thompson led the way with 25 points. However, the team shot just 31.8% (21-66) from the field, including 2-of-22 from three-point range.
Meghan Boyd paced the Pioneers with 20 points on the evening. The in-state rival taking a 44-29 halftime lead and cruising to the road victory.
Chris Gobrecht's team will look to bounce back Saturday when they play at Colorado. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
