Air Force’s Billy Christopoulos named AHC Goalie of the Month

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force senior Billy Christopoulos was named the Atlantic Hockey Conference Goalie of the Month for the month of January. The monthly award was his first of the season and fourth of his career.

In the month of January, his 1.80 GAA and .941 saves percentage were the best of any goalie in the conference. He started all eight games and had a 3-2-3 record. The native of Raleigh, N.C., made 39 saves against current No. 8 Western Michigan in the championship game of the Ice Vegas Invitational, Jan. 5, the second most of his career. He added 36 saves in the 2-2 overtime tie at Sacred Heart, Jan. 20. Christopoulos was named the AHC Goalie of the Week in leading the Falcons to a sweep over Robert Morris, Jan. 25-26, stopping 36 of 38 in the series.

 

Air Force (13-11-4 overall, 11-8-3 AHC) is off until Feb. 15-16 when the Falcons host Canisius at Cadet Ice Arena.
