COLORADO SPRINGS — Help is on the way for home bound seniors during this difficult time.

The Salvation Army is coordinating with Care and Share, El Paso County's 211 helpline, and COS I Love You to provide meals to folks over the age of 60 who are immobile or don't a have a vehicle to get around in.

Those using the service should first call 211. The Salvation Army will then dispatch volunteers for deliveries. Personal protective equipment will be provided to volunteers.

"We don't want anyone going hungry, that's unacceptable. As for non-profits collaborating together, I'm excited because we couldn't have done it just one of us, just by ourselves," Capt. Doug Hanson with the Salvation Army.

The program will begin Wednesday. If you would like to help out, contact the Salvation Army or Care and Share.
