COLORADO SPRINGS — COLORADO SPRINGS — A new restaurant, bar called "The 555, Speak Easy," will be coming to Colorado Springs within the next couple of months.

Originally, owners, Gentle Fritz and JJ Grueter, owned The Triple Nickle and The Zodiac.

However, when the pandemic hit, they each had to close their own businesses.

"We sat down and started weighing out what we knew versus what we didn't know and it seemed like closing down and making that choice before it was taken from us was a better idea," said Fritz.

However, their drive to have a place for community members to congregate and connect did not fade, so they put their heads together and came up with " The 555, Speak Easy."

"We knew that we would have a business if we teamed up together, brought the best of both what we could do into one," said Fritz.

Fritz says there are a few touches that need to be finished before they can officially open.

"We are going to roll things out slowly. We are waiting on one license from the health department," said Fritz.

Fritz shares her excitement to reopen and see her customers once again.

"Their loss of, I miss my bar and then them coming in and saying this is great and they can see themselves here instantly,' it gives us a little charge of energy as we have been toiling still kind of wondering how is this going to work, are we going to make it?" said Fritz.

The 555, Speak Easy will be located at 103 South Wahsatch Ave Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
