COLORADO SPRINGS — The Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs announced the weekend street closure of Tejon Street, between Colorado and Pikes Peak avenues, will continue until Oct. 24, weather permitting.
The announcement was made at the Partnership’s annual gathering on Thursday, which was held virtually this year.
During the week, restaurants will be offering expanded outdoor seating, and on Friday and Saturday, Tejon Street will be closed to traffic to allow extra seating. It will be closed from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m on those days.
"Dine Out Downtown is more than just the street closure," said Len Kendall, the director of planning and mobility for the partnership. "There are over 20 other restaurants that have expanded their outdoor dining options down here. And, to continue dining outside, and if you can inside as well."
Regular outdoor seating at restaurants will continue throughout the fall and winter months. More than 25 restaurants offer expanded outdoor seating on sidewalks and other public spaces
Kendall says that Dine Out Downtown has been a great success, and some restaurants are reporting higher revenues than last summer.
