COLORADO SPRINGS — There's no arguing that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has changed a massive portion of our daily lives.
In the midst of these changes, many local businesses and organizations are finding ways to overcome and adapt to keep their doors open, while at the same time, help those around them.
Similarly those hit hard are reporting a tremendous outpouring of support from the community.
This outpouring reminding all of us that while this global epidemic has changed so much, it HASN'T changed people's desire for community.
This is We're Open Colorado, a segment dedicated to highlighting local businesses and organizations that are still open or are reopening and finding unique ways to serve the community.
With all of this in mind, let's take a look at Neon Pig Creative, a Springs local web and graphic design business that has donated its time and resources to help create a website that is aimed at supporting the local community as well as other small businesses.
Neon Pig Creative created the website for the Support the Springs movement, which is dedicated to, "Empower[ing] Colorado Springs citizens to continue to support the local economy by changing the negative, fearful narrative around the COVID-19 outbreak."
"We put our hat in the ring where our expertise was most well served and that ended up being the web development of the Support the Springs website," stated Colin Christie, a partner of Neon Pig.
The small business hopes that through their work in this project, they are able to help as many other local businesses pull through this tough time as possible.
"It takes a community to push a community forward. It takes every single person that lives in Colorado Springs, that works in Colorado Springs, and that plays in Colorado Springs," finished Laura Schnarr, director of strategy for Neon Pig.
